Day 8 – On our last day in Maui we went to Wailea, an upscale resort area, and visited the town of Kahului,
a cruise port. Nearby is Maui Tropical Plantation, a working pineapple field featuring a farm-to-table restaurant and activities such as zip-lining. We ended the evening at the beautiful Hyatt Regency Maui where we enjoyed the Drums of the Pacific luau.
This was a perfect way to end this Hawaiian dream.

      AN INCREDIBLE TRIP TO THE
  HAWAIIAN ISLANDS
By Terence McDermott AAA Travel Agent
I had the wonderful opportunity of traveling to Hawaii with AAA travel partner Pleasant Holidays. It was an amazing experience. The natural beauty is awe-inspiring. Here are some of the highlights of my experiences on the islands of Oahu and Maui.
Day 1 – My first night in Honolulu was spent at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki. This beachside resort has amazing pools, a private lagoon, and beautiful rooms with views of the beach and Diamond Head crater. After a relaxing day on the beach and by the pool, we enjoyed a Hawaiian luau.
Day 2 – Today’s adventure took us to Kualoa Ranch, which sits on 4,000 private acres and is considered to be Hollywood’s backlot. Here you can take a movie set tour in an open-air bus or opt for a private VIP movie set tour. There’s also horseback riding, e-bike tours, zip-lining, and a jungle expedition tour.
Day 3 – Today we visited the Pearl Harbor memorial, which features a short historical film, before boarding a vessel to the memorial. Later, on a Honolulu city tour, we saw the Iolani Palace, the
United States’ only formal royal residence, and the national cemetery of the Pacific.
Day 4 – Venturing to the North Shore to see Oahu’s countryside, we stopped in Haleiwa, a popular surf town where there are quaint shops, food trucks and farms. Another highlight of the day was stopping at the Polynesian Cultural Center for an introduction to Polynesian history.
Day 5 – This morning we flew to Maui for a stay in the Ka’anapali area. This is an ideal resort location, with shopping and dining. Catamaran cruises leave from the area, and the beach is gorgeous, especially at sunset.
Day 6 – Today we spent time in Lahaina, an old whaling village. If you stroll down Front Street you will find boutiques, handmade craft shops, art galleries, and restaurants.
Day 7 – At the Ko’ie’ie Fishpond we learned about ancient Hawaiian fishing techniques and the history of the Hawaiian people. We also were able to take out
