SPRING 2021
LUXURY TRAIN ADVENTURE IN AMERICA’S SOUTHWEST
America’s Southwest is a stark, beautiful landscape, painted in hues of dusty red and orange. Rugged rock formations serve as a backdrop to grand and glorious displays of Mother Nature – natural archways, sinuous rivers, and towering sandstone hoodoos.
In 2021, you can experience this magnificent scenery on a new “Rockies to the Red Rocks” rail itinerary aboard a Rocky Mountaineer luxury train. Travel between Denver, Colorado, and Moab, Utah, with an overnight stay in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Along the way, pass through Moffat Tunnel and emerge on the western side of the Continental Divide, cutting through 6.3 miles of mountainous terrain. Travel along the Colorado River and picturesque canyons, habitat for
deer, marmots, big horn sheep, bears and mountain lions.
Frequently a filming backdrop for movies, including “Stagecoach” and “Forrest Gump,” Utah’s Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park is another highlight of this rail itinerary. The park is known
for its towering sandstone buttes, and is accessed
by the magnificently scenic 17-mile Valley Drive. The famous Mittens Buttes can be viewed from the road or from overlooks such as John Ford’s Point.
At Arches National Park, which lies north of Moab, visitors find one of the greatest concentrations of natural arches in the world – some 2,000 span the park's otherworldly terrain.
Experience this scenic beauty aboard a luxury train and you have all the makings of an unforgettable journey. Rocky Mountaineer’s deluxe glass-dome railcars traverse this region of Southwest America while indulging guests with exceptional service
and amenities. En route to your destinations, enjoy gourmet meals served from a fully stocked kitchen, regional wines and beers, stories and historical tidbits provided by onboard hosts.
Rocky Mountaineer railcars feature large picture windows on the lower dining level, while the domed upper-level provides 360-degree views that wrap around the seemingly endless scenery. This viewing area is equipped with large, comfortable seats that allow you to stand while snapping photos of the picturesque scenery. These luxury
trains only travel by day, stopping in the evenings for guests to disembark and spend the night in hotels along the way.
Rocky Mountaineer will offer 40 departures on the “Rockies to the Red Rocks” route from August to October 2021, and a full season schedule for 2022 and beyond. To learn more about this itinerary and Rocky Mountaineer’s three Canadian rail routes, talk to your AAA Schuylkill Country travel agent.
