      EMERGENCY ROAD SERVICE GUIDE
AAA Emergency Road Service is just that – an emergency service, which must not be mistaken for maintenance, repair or convenience service. Members are responsible for the cost of parts and labor. The service person will make only one round trip per disablement. Additional trips for the same disablement are at the member’s expense.
                  How to Call for ERS
When in need of Emergency Road Service, members should call 498-2171 when located inside of Shelby County. If outside of Shelby County, members should call 1-800-AAA-HELP to receive dispatch assistance
24 hours a day from AAA employees. When calling for service, you will be asked the following:
o The town or city you are in
o Your membership number
o Exact location of the vehicle with cross streets o Phone number
o The year, make, model, color and license
plate number of the vehicle o Type of disablement
o Tow destination if applicable
Information given in this sequence will enable AAA to dispatch a vehicle to your aid without delay. It is expected that a member will be with the disabled vehicle at the time of service and present their driver’s license (or other photo ID) and valid membership card when the AAA service provider arrives.
Members can also request Emergency Road Service by visiting AAA.com/Help.
If your emergency problem is resolved before the serviceman reaches you, notify AAA immediately. This will avoid your account being charged with a road service call.
Important Provisions
Every effort has been made to design an Emergency Road Service program that is able to meet the emergency demands of AAA members. However,
the Club cannot guarantee that service will always
be available in all areas and under all circumstances. Service within any particular time limit cannot be guaranteed, especially during periods of extreme weather conditions, when delays can be expected.
Emergency Fuel Delivery
A limited supply of fuel will be delivered to your disabled vehicle to enable you to reach the nearest open service station. Specific brands or octane ratings cannot be promised. Basic members will be charged the current pump price for the fuel. AAA Plus members receive a sufficient supply of fuel free of charge to get to the nearest service station. When fuel delivery is unavailable, towing benefits apply according to the towing provision of your membership.
Lockout Service
If your keys are locked inside your vehicle, service will be sent to gain entrance. If the vehicle key (that operates or provides access to the passenger compartment of the vehicle) is lost or broken, or if the service provider cannot gain entry, AAA shall provide locksmith service up to $50 ($100 for AAA Plus members) or reimbursement of commercial locksmith service up to $50 ($100 for AAA Plus members). If necessary, AAA will also provide tow service in accordance with the towing provision of your membership.
Emergency Extrication/Winching
Your vehicle will be extricated/winched when it can be safely reached from a normally traveled, established thoroughfare. One service vehicle
and one technician will be provided at AAA’s expense. A second service vehicle and technician
will be provided for up to 60 minutes if needed for AAA Plus members. If special equipment, additional manpower, or vehicles are required, the associated costs may be at your expense. In the event of weather emergencies (floods, blizzards, hurricanes, etc.), extrication of vehicles parked on streets, driveways, parking lots, or alleys may be deferred until the roads are reasonably clear and safely passable.
Tire Service
If your vehicle’s spare is inflated and/or serviceable, it will be installed to replace a flat tire. If no inflated spare is available, the vehicle will be towed in accordance with the towing provision of your membership. Tire repairs and additional trips are at the member’s expense. Inboard rear tires on dual- wheeled vehicles are not eligible for tire service.
Battery Service
AAA Mobile Battery Service offers battery testing and replacement when and where it’s convenient for you. AAA will test, jump or replace your vehicle’s battery as needed. Installation and testing are included in the price of the battery and AAA members receive an exclusive discount on the purchase price of a new battery.
We understand that your time is important, so AAA Battery Service offers a complete line of batteries
to fit almost any vehicle. Quick, professional service is guaranteed, as a qualified battery specialist will attend to your vehicle while you wait.
Reimbursements
If you have attempted to contact AAA directly to obtain Emergency Roadside Service, and AAA service is not available, AAA will attempt to obtain private service for you. Service will be provided in full up
to the limits of your membership. Should you fail
to contact us prior to obtaining private service, you will be required to pay for the service, and submit
an original itemized paid receipt in the member’s name along with a AAA reimbursement form for AAA reimbursement consideration. Reimbursement will be limited to what it would have cost AAA to provide the service directly to the member.
Exceptions to this requirement would be cases involving violation of laws including illegal parking, snow routes, driving under the influence; failure to
