appear for violations; driving on a suspended/revoked driver’s license; illegal use of falsification of license or registration; engaging in a felony.
Emergency Towing
Your vehicle may be towed back to the facility rendering service or to destination of your choice
up to 3 miles when your vehicle cannot be safely driven after other roadside assistance services have been tried. As a AAA Plus member, you are eligible
to have a vehicle towed up to 100 miles. You may incur charges payable to the driver of the responding facility for additional mileage not covered within your membership benefits.
During severe and extended storms or cold weather periods, AAA reserves the right to temporarily suspend towing service to members whose vehicles are in a place of safety, such as parking lots or the member’s own driveway or garage in order to give priority to members who may be stranded out-of- doors or in an emergency situation.
Member Coverage
Emergency Road Service is provided only for the member whose name appears on the membership card. Members are covered in any vehicle they are driving or riding in at the time of the breakdown. Service, however, does not cover a particular vehicle, nor is service available to any nonmember driving the member’s vehicle.
Eligible Vehicles
Service applies to all four-wheeled motor vehicles of the passenger, pleasure or recreational type vans, campers and motor homes regardless of license plate designation, if those services can be safely rendered. Emergency Road Services will be provided to eligible vehicles that were in operation immediately prior to disablement. Dual-wheeled unloaded pickup trucks are eligible for service if they can be safely delivered with standard operating equipment.
Rented passenger vehicles are eligible for service. Commercial vehicles are eligible for service with the exclusion of taxi cabs and limousines. Some services, such as extricating services and towing, cannot be safely provided to large or heavily loaded vehicles; however, other services will be provided such as battery, gasoline and lockout services. Vehicles which are not insured do not bear valid state license plates or vehicles to be junked are not eligible for service. Service to scooters, ambulances, law enforcement vehicles or farm vehicles is not covered.
Service Limitations
AAA service is designed to render assistance during emergencies. Service will be rendered
when the member is with the vehicle, unless the member is unable to do so due to extenuating circumstances. Members are entitled to one service call per disablement. Members must present a valid membership card and valid identification in order to receive service. If the card is not available as proof
of membership, the responding facility will require full payment. Save your receipts for reimbursement consideration and submit to AAA within 90 days.
The intentional misuse or excessive use of your membership card could result in service limitations, extra charges or membership cancellation. AAA Shelby County reserves the right to terminate or decline renewal of a membership for permitting use of services by a nonmember. In fairness to all AAA members, your club cannot render service repeatedly to a car in need of repair.
Members requiring more than four road service calls in a membership year will be sent service, but they will be charged a fee for the fifth and each successive call at the time of service.
AAA PLUS/PLUS RV
AAA Plus is an optional plan that extends your regular membership and gives you even more of the valuable protection AAA is famous for. AAA Plus gives you extended services, such as:
Up to 100 Miles of Towing
AAA Plus/Plus RV provides towing up to 100 miles from the point of disablement to any location of the member’s choice, or back to the responding facility at no additional charge.
Delivery of Emergency Fuel
AAA Plus/Plus RV provides, at no additional cost, a sufficient amount of fuel to enable a member to reach the nearest open service station.
Parts and Labor for Locksmith Service
AAA Plus/Plus RV provides added coverage or reimbursement up to a total of $100 in parts and labor for locksmith service, if such service is required either to gain access or to make the eligible vehicle operable again.
Extended Extrication Service
When your car is stuck, your vehicle will be extricated when it can be safely reached from a normally traveled or established thoroughfare. AAA Plus/Plus RV will cover a second truck and driver for up to one hour.
Trip Interruption Protection
In the event of a collision that occurs while driving an eligible vehicle 100 miles or more from home, AAA Plus/Plus RV provides reimbursement up to $700 for lodging, meals or alternate transportation if your trip is delayed for 24 hours or more. This benefit pays for expenses incurred within 72 hours of the collision.
$2,000 Car Theft Reward
AAA Plus/Plus RV increases your protection up
to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a person stealing an eligible vehicle registered in the name of the AAA Plus/Plus RV member. Law enforcement officers, the member and member’s family are eligible to receive the reward.
AAA PREMIER
Experience AAA’s highest level of membership by upgrading your Plus membership to AAA Premier. This new coverage provides you with exclusive new services that add extra benefits, convenience and savings.
EMERGENCY ROAD SERVICE PURPOSE
Emergency services are provided to put your vehicle in a drivable condition. If these attempts are unsuccessful after a reasonable effort by the service provider, the towing service provision will apply. Whenever possible, ERS is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, throughout the United States and Canada. We select ERS facilities for their ability to handle service calls, but we cannot guarantee that these facilities have parts or equipment to make repairs. ERS facilities are independent business
and are not employees or agents of this club, the American Automobile Association, or its affiliates. Responsibility for loss, damage or unsatisfactory workmanship remains with the facility providing the service. AAA will, however, make every attempt to resolve disputed claims. Damage complaints must be received within 10 days of the incident, and AAA cannot promise resolution if repairs are completed prior to investigation.
Please Cancel
If you call for ERS and are then able to start your vehicle or get service from another source, please call the club back to cancel your request so we don’t have to make an unnecessary trip. That way you will help others get service more quickly.
Emergency Check Acceptance
Your personal check for up to $250 is guaranteed acceptance for emergency service/repairs at all AAA Emergency Road Service contract facilities. A valid membership card and driver’s license will be required for identification.
