Lawrence River and later, a thrilling toboggan run. Learn about Quebec’s food scene as she enjoys
a traditional Quebec meal with the owners of a popular sugar shack where maple syrup is made. Explore picturesque Petit Champain, visit North America’s only hotel built from ice and more.
Continue watching to see the spectacular scenery of New York’s Hudson Valley region as Samantha visits historic Dutchess County and the Hudson Valley. View the Hudson River and surrounding valley from the Walkway Over the Hudson and join Samantha as she visits Innisfree Garden, said to be one among the world’s best botanical gardens. Get an in-depth look at the region’s culinary scene as Samantha visits a local restaurant, an organic farm, and one of her favorite tea shops. You’ll experience the growing sport of shooting clays, learn about local history and art, and more in this episode.
“The Food Special” will take you to far-ranging destinations as Samantha recalls fascinating food scenes from her travels. This episode offers an up-close look at flavors from around the world – cakes in Vienna, paprikash in Budapest and craft beer in New Zealand
– and fantastic foods in the United States, including tamales in Phoenix and Key lime pie in Florida.
Explore some of Florida’s most interesting beaches with Samantha as she visits Fort Myers and Sanibel Island, where Samantha goes on an island-hopping
adventure and finds out why these beaches are known for their bounty of unusual seashells. A historic estate, a sustainable farm, a wildlife refuge and the funky artist community of Matlacha are all on the itinerary in this episode.
Samantha wraps up the season with “Samantha’s Tips for Making Travel Count,” sharing expert advice and useful tips you’ll want to remember as you rediscover travel, whether it’s close to home or a faraway destination.
