For Your Protection AAA Requires ID Checks at the Roadside
With roadside assistance continually ranked as the leading benefit of a AAA membership, we want to ensure you are receiving the timely, quality service
you and other members expect. That’s why a roadside technician will ask to see your photo identification upon arrival to verify you are the covered member. This step helps prevent someone else from taking advantage of your paid membership.
When nonmembers “borrow” or misuse road service benefits, members might lose access to valuable roadside assistance services, response times can be delayed while our network is distracted with requests from nonmembers, and the costs of serving these requests can lead to higher membership dues.
When membership benefits are misused, paying members might be inconvenienced with longer wait times. Delivering a high-quality member experience is of the utmost importance. The requirement of checking photo IDs at the roadside helps protect the member and the value of their AAA membership.
AAA membership benefits are exclusive to the cardholders and do not extend to family or friends, regardless of who owns the vehicle. Therefore, you might want to consider adding your spouse or children (age and other restrictions apply) to your membership as an associate member.
So remember, the next time you request roadside assistance, whether through the AAA mobile app or
 Members in Motion
In October, AAA Akron hosted vehicle safety inspections at its downtown location. Members stopped by to get a free car and battery inspection.
Pictured is William Barclay, a loyal 18-year member.
Snap a selfie or group photo of you and your membership card(s) and send them to webmaster@akron.aaa.com for a chance to appear as future Members in Motion.
