Springtime in the Gardens

This lovely day in May begins with a private tour at Nemours Mansion and Gardens, previously owned and developed by Alfred DuPont (1864 – 1935). The estate comprises an exquisite 77-room mansion, the largest formal French gardens in North America, a chauffeur’s garage filled with antique automobiles, and nearly 200 acres of scenic woodlands, meadows and gardens. In the afternoon, a delightful lunch is included at the legendary Hotel DuPont. After lunch, a guided tour of Mt. Cuba Center provides an opportunity to learn about creating sustainable landscapes, ecological gardening, plant information and seasonal highlights.
