The Skyline Drive, one of America’s legendary roadways, is the main artery of Shenandoah National Park. Just the drive itself is worth the journey. Winding 105 miles through Shenandoah National Park, the legendary Skyline Drive has 75 overlooks providing spectacular views of mountains and valleys. Get out of the car and hike along well-maintained trails. Check the park schedule for family nature programs and guided hikes. Break

Enjoy a feast for your senses – the sound of bluegrass, the taste of sweet wine, and the magical views of the changing foliage.
Fall is the most popular time of year to visit the Finger Lakes Region. The foliage is some of the most gorgeous in the country. Rolling hills and the vast landscape of vineyards become speckled with rich red, orange and gold. Fall also means harvest time in the Finger Lakes. Take part in harvest festivals where you can pick, sample and buy the freshest
Finger Lakes produce and even take part in grape stomping. Another special harvest is the Glass Harvest at the Corning Museum of Glass. The talented gaffers at the Corning Museum of Glass have created the world’s largest blown-glass pumpkin. Make your own glass pumpkin while visiting the museum in a Make Your Own Glass workshop. The stage is set for a beautiful foliage season as early fall colors begin to emerge in Vermont. With the highest percentage of maple trees in New England, Vermont has the most vibrant fall foliage in the northeast. Leaf peepers can view expansive foliage across more than 300,000 acres of state-owned
forests. In the early stage of fall foliage, the best colors can generally be found in higher elevations, the northern section of the state and in wetter low-lying areas, where swamp maples bring in an early splash of crimson.
