E-ZPass NY offers discounted tolls and convenient travel every day. As the New York State Thruway continues its transition to cashless tolling across the State by the end of 2020, now is the perfect time to start saving.
WHAT IS E-ZPASS?
E-ZPass is an electronic toll collection system that
can be used throughout New York State and 16 other states around the country. It is the most convenient way to pay tolls and helps reduce congestion by allowing drivers to pay their tolls without stopping at
a toll booth. You can use your E-ZPass tag on all toll roads with specially marked “E-ZPass” lanes. This also includes roads in Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New
Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, Florida and Kentucky.
WHERE CAN YOU GET AN E-ZPASS TAG?
New York E-ZPass On-the-Go tags are available at more than 880 locations statewide, including AAA Travel Stores, Thruway service areas, select Thruway cash lanes, local grocery and convenience stores, NYS DMV offices and other retail and municipal locations. E-ZPass tags are available as a prepackaged tag for $25. After a customer registers the tag online or over the phone, the $25 is credited to their account and the tag becomes active within 24 hours. Anyone, regardless of where they live, can sign up for a New York E-ZPass account. There also are multiple payment options available for customers as well as additional discount plans.
In 2018, the New York State Thruway Authority saw record sales of Thruway E-ZPass On-the-Go tags.
