   Travel Spotlight:
Jennie Koncewicz
We sat down with Jennie to learn more about her and her time as a Travel Agent.
AAA Every Day: How long have you been in the travel industry?
Jennie Koncewicz: I have been in the travel industry for 36 years, specializing in leisure vacation travel.
AED: What is your favorite destination that you have visited?
JK: My favorite destination is Paris, France; truly, the “City of Lights” and a very romantic city as well. A global center for art, fashion, gastronomy and culture. Well-known landmarks include the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, the famous Notre-Dame cathedral, and of course, the Louvre Museum.
AED: Which types of vacations are your favorite to plan for your clients in the United States and why?
JK: One of my favorite U.S. destinations is Alaska because of its wildlife and striking landscapes. You can view iconic grizzly bears, bald eagles, orca and humpback whales plus a spectacular medley of mountains, fjords and glaciers. Depending on the month of travel to Alaska, you might even catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights.
AED: What advice do you have for travelers taking these types of trips?
JK: To fully enjoy the Alaskan experience, I would recommend 10 days or more and taking a Land and Sea Cruise combo. You can travel deep into the wilderness
of Alaska by rail and coach. Then follow it up by cruising the Inside Passage, visiting quaint and picturesque towns

along the way. Days at sea are spent cruising by glaciers and fjords narrated onboard the ship by a knowledgeable guide. I suggest adding a couple of nights before your land portion. Recommended add-ons for pre-nights would be in Fairbanks or Anchorage, Alaska. Post-nights at the end of your cruise could be spent in Vancouver and Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, before ending your journey. All of AAA’s preferred cruise lines offer a variety of itineraries to choose from.
AED: Do you have any advice for people who are feeling nervous about booking travel following this year’s pandemic?
JK: If you are feeling nervous during this uncertain time, my suggestion is booking for 2021 or into 2022. AAA
is currently booking for future travel, which is what we would recommend anyway. It is always better to book ahead to guarantee the vacation experience you are looking for. It also is smart to add travel insurance to your package so that you are prepared should anything happen to change your plans.
AED: Besides your love for all things travel, tell us something else about yourself.
JK: I am adventurous, athletic, curious (about everything) and I love to learn. I bring my knowledge and years
of adventure as an agent. When planning my clients’ vacations, it is my goal to make their trips positive, memorable and satisfying for life regardless of whether they are first time travelers or have a literal world of experience.
