Automobile Reviews
2013 Hyundai Elantra
There’s no denying the Hyundai
brand is red hot. Sales are
skyrocketing, up 10 percent over
2011. However, most Hyundai
vehicles are in short supply. When
compared to competitor vehicles
such as the Mazda3, Volkswagen
Golf or Honda Civic, both the
Coupe and the GT wind up being a
bargain choice. But for more power,
performance shoppers will most
likely prefer the Civic Si, Mazda
Speed or VW Golf GTI. Overall, both
the Coupe and the GT are excellent
fits and expand the already excellent
Elantra product line.
2013 Ford Taurus
Since its last redesign in 2010, Ford
had to do something to rival stylish
competition such as the Chrysler
300, Toyota Aval, and Hyundai Azera.
Hence, its mid-cycle refresh for
2013. Overall, the new Taurus is not
a perfect car, but it will adequately
please those who either like or need
a large family sedan. While it’s roomy,
has a large trunk, accelerates with
ease and has just a few flaws, there’s
a big move among consumers to
smaller and mid-size sedans that are
roomy inside and nowhere near this
car’s price.

2013 Lexus ES
For 2013, you can see that Lexus
has definitely brought its "A" game
with its fresh redesign of the ES,
the brand’s best-selling sedan. With
a look that closely follows the GS
sedan introduced earlier this year,
the ES breaks with tradition. This
change nets a much welcome 4.1
inches of extra rear-seat legroom.
It’s beautifully made — big, soft and
super comfortable on a long drive.
Given the minimal price and driving
dynamic difference between the two
models, we recommend the ES 300h
if you’re in the market.
2013 Ram 1500
The re-skinned and significantly
re-engineered 2013 Ram is arriving
at dealers earlier than expected.
We expect buyers will be especially
pleased with the updated Ram
1500 because of its striking good
looks, upscale interiors, smooth ride,
towing and hauling capabilities, and
now, its best-in-class fuel economy.
It’s a winning combination that
maintains Ram’s status as a top pick
in the full-size pickup truck segment
and that may even entice buyers to
switch brands.
