Recently I had a great opportunity to travel to
different parts of Mexico. Like most people, I too
was hesitant to travel due to various media reports.
Luckily I got a chance to see for myself how great of
a place Mexico really is.
Duringmy time in Mexico I toured Cancun, Riviera
Maya, Playa Del Carmen and Cozumel. I stayed at
and visited Palace Resorts throughout my trip. These
resorts not only offer all-inclusive packages, they also
give you up to $1,500 resort credit to be used towards
the spas, excursions and golf. We dined at fantastic
restaurants, enjoyed poolside entertainment as well as
nightly shows at various properties.
Visiting the different resorts I could see myself at
each one, depending on who I would be traveling
with. I can definitely see myself at the Beach Palace
or Moon Palace while traveling with my husband
and two kids. They offer kids clubs, entertainment,
arcades and much more.
If my husband and I were traveling by ourselves, I
wouldn’t think twice about staying at Le Blanc Resort
in Cancun. This is an adults-only luxury resort rated
the AAA 5-diamond award. This would also be my
choice to send newlyweds for their honeymoon or
couples celebrating their anniversary.
Would you like to go snorkeling or scuba diving
on the second largest coral reef in the world? Then
you want to visit Cozumel. I took a 45-minute ferry
ride from Playa del Carmen to Cozumel. While there
I toured the Cozumel Palace Resort. This is truly an
intimate Caribbean gem. One of my favorite rooms
there is the loft suite – it sleeps up to six guests.
My favorite place that I stayed at was Playacar
Palace! This was a perfectly charming spot located
within walking distance to Avenida 5 or 5th Avenue.
This is a street lined with all kinds of shops, arts
and crafts galleries, cafes, restaurants and bars. It
reminds me of Little Italy or Chinatown in NYC but
Mexican style. You’ll definitely need your bargaining
skills for this street. This resort is also walking
distance to the ferry that takes you to Cozumel.
I’m not trying to deny that there is no crime in
Mexico because there is, but it is nowhere near the
cities that I have mentioned. Mexico is roughly the
same size of Spain, the United Kingdom, France,
Italy and Germany put together, and there's crime
in those countries as well. So don’t let media reports
keep you from all the beauty, cuisine and culture
that Mexico has to offer. I didn’t!
